Relva and Thermal Ocean Pools
Yesterday we just missed hurricane Ophelia but it rained heavy in the afternoon. Today we hiked a beautiful trail in Relva along the cliffs above the ocean through small vineyards to a quaint tiny village with old stone houses. Then we drove to a thermal pool at the edge of the ocean. At low tide the temperature of the water is 104 degrees. It was near low tide today and Billy went in. The water was warm but the ocean was so rough the waves were mixing in with the pool. It was another great day.

Furnas
Today we visited Furnas on the way to the hike. Furnas has molton volcano lava at the surface and the local restaurants have pots of food cooked underground in the lava for 7 Hours. There were a lot of tourists here but it was really neat and worth seeing.

Faial da Terra
Today we drove to Faial da Terra and hiked a wonderful hike to a waterfall and then through an old village. After the hike we went to the beach. The first sandy beaches we saw were today.

Lagoa do Fogo
Yesterday we rented a car and drove around half of the island. We stopped and swam in ocean pools formed out of lava rock. The island is beautiful with so many different landscapes. We stopped at Fogo lake. The weather has been perfect 80s and sunny.

Norman Island
Yesterday we boated to Norman Island in very rough seas, too rough to sail. Some of us went to the caves and snorkeled and then to the beach. The Island generator was broken so we couldn't eat out our last night but they sold us 12 cheeseburgers to cook for $20! We also went to Willy Ts a pirate ship that is a restaurant and bar and we jumped off the ship.

Jost Van Dyke
Yesterday we stayed in Great Harbour on Jost van dyke and went to the Soggy dollar bar in white bay. Billy dinghied the girls over to White Bay and the boys came by taxi. The drinks at soggy dollar bar were awesome and the setting is beautiful.
