Makapu’u Lighthouse hike and Pearl Harbor

Yesterday did a beautiful hike to Makapu’u Lighthouse. Then we drove around the island to the north shore to see the surfers. In the afternoon we visited Pearl Harbor. That was very interesting and very moving. 

On the way to Pearl Harbor we stopped at the Dole Plantation and I learned how to grow a new pineapple from the stem. 

There were a lot of surfers on the north shore. The waves were big but not huge and some of the surfers were really good. 

In the afternoon we visited Pearl Harbor and got a tour of the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial. We watched a short movie that was very good.
